Statement of Core Beliefs

Fairport Central School District’s Board of Education

We believe in educating each child, every child, and the whole child.

It is our responsibility as the Board of Education to provide the best environment for the children of our district to learn, grow, flourish, and recognize their potential in all of their endeavors. 

We honor all people and are committed to providing an equitable, inclusive, and accessible educational environment for all. 

We recognize that learning takes place both in and out of the classroom. We will offer a wide breadth of opportunities so students may explore their interests, stimulate their desire to learn, and grow, and to reach their full potential. 

We strive to cultivate an environment that advances the art and science of teaching and learning as determined by research-based best practices. We believe everyone in our District contributes to the education of students and we commit to providing professional learning opportunities where educators can grow in their practice. 

We are stewards of our community’s tax dollars and are committed to transparency, maximizing resources, fiscal sustainability and effective planning. 

We are dedicated to continual facilities maintenance and improvement to provide safe and inviting facilities where our students are able to explore, innovate, create, and develop their abilities. 

We are dedicated to building more sustainable practices that reduce the environmental impact of our operations. 

By staying true to our core beliefs, our children will be able to perform at their highest level; emotionally, cognitively, creatively, and physically. We know the true outcome for a Fairport Education is success in life, including, but not limited to: being healthy, compassionate, engaged, ethical, and respectful individuals, taking civic responsibility, thinking critically, working towards self-sufficiency, and adapting effectively in an ever-changing environment.
