Below you will see the way people in our community were able to submit entries for Bailey's Book.  The deadline was January 2009, and our book is currently (2/2010) at the publishers.  However, you are always more than welcome to submit any essay or thoughts.  The family enjoys reading them!

While many students in grades K-12 will be asked to contribute to Bailey’s Book as part of their classroom assignments, we invite those students, others who aren’t participating in their classrooms, and the community to submit their contributions online with this easy-to-use template.

The entire community is an important part of this project. In 1999, The Town of Perinton, Village of Fairport, and Fairport Central School District formed a partnership endorsing the Healthy Communities-Healthy Youth initiative and encouraged all of our citizens to participate in the healthy development of our most precious resource, our youth.  We encourage community members of all ages to help make this book meaningful for all.

Please note that all submissions will become the property of the Fairport-Perinton Healthy Communities-Healthy Youth Developmental Assets® Initiative. We reserve the right to share those not published in the book on this site’s blog after February 1, 2009.

Requirements:

·         Essays must not exceed 700 words; you will be asked to provide the word count (use the "word count" function in Word); poems can be any length

·         Each essay much relate to at least one of the developmental assets

·        Use the essay question list (see "Essay Questions" on the left toolbar) to inspire you -- use one of them or create your own, but it must relate to one of the developmental assets

·         You may also submit original photos or scanned artwork.

**The submission deadline for consideration in Bailey's Book was January 31, 2009.

You may also submit through the mail. Send your typed essay (with the word count), photo, or original artwork related to at least one of the developmental assets to:
