Q. When will Bailey's Book be available?
A. As of this update, February 10, 2010, Bailey's Book is at the publishers. Once our publisher, Windsor Media Enterprises LCC, is finished with the development/layout of the book, we will send it off to the printers. We are hoping to have the book available mid to late Spring 2010.
Q. How many submissions are allowed? A. There is no limit on the number of submissions one person can make. Q. What is the deadline for submissions? A. All submissions must be received by January 31, 2009. Q. Should my essay be about Bailey?
A. It doesn’t have to be, but it can be. The only content requirement is that any submission – essay, poem, drawing, photo, etc. – relate to the 40 developmental assets developed by the Search Institute. Q. I didn’t know Bailey. May I still submit an essay?
A. Absolutely. Q. How long should my essay be?
A. Essays must be 300-700 words long. Q. May I submit photos and artwork? A. Yes. Please note that they must relate to the 40 developmental assets developed by the Search Institute. Q. How will I know if my submission is selected for the book?
A. We will notify people whose submissions are selected in March, 2009. Q. What will happen if my submission is selected for publication? A. You will be notified if your essay or other submission is selected for publication in the book. When the book is published, you will receive a complimentary copy of the book and be invited to participate in celebrations related to the book’s introduction to the community. Q. What will happen to my submission if it’s not selected for the book? A. We know that we will receive more excellent materials than we can ever hope to publish in one book. We plan to publish many of those essays on our blog instead. Q. When can I purchase a book?
A. Our publication date is Spring 2009. As we get closer to that date, we’ll update this information here on the Web site. Q. What will you do with money made selling the book?
A. Any money earned through book sales will be used to pay for the publishing expenses. Q. How can I donate money to help with the publishing expenses?
A. We welcome financial contributions. Please read the instructions at our page, “Donate to Bailey’s Book.” Q. How can I volunteer?
