The new gymnasium is up and running!
We are excited to begin our first full year in our new facilities. We have discovered endless possibilities and have many ideas to try.
What's up at Brooks Hill... ~The PE Staff tries to take classes outside as much as possible. Classroom teachers are also taking their students outside more. Please don't forget sunscreen and hats for outside time! *When you get home, throw on that sunscreen, enjoy the warm days and get outside and play!! Winter will be bere soon :-)*
Swimming Anyone?? We are waiting to see if our swimmin unit will continuethis year. Stay posted for updates! This would be our fourth year implementing swimming into our elementary curriculum. The program has become a favorite among students and teachers and is a HUGE success. As drowning is highest among adolescents, our program hopes to help decrease this statistic. Students are loving it and it brings us great pleasure to know our students will be safer around water. Our second and third grade teachers have reported nothing but positive feedback. Students maintain better focus after swimming, and throughout the day, proving that exercise enhances academics.
Brooks Hill is committed to creating "life long movers!" Life time fitness is important to each of us. We hope our students have fun moving and that they want to continue to be “movers” outside of school. We are also committed to fostering an atmosphere of respect, responsibility, honesty, and acceptance. We hope that you encourage your children, and your children may encourage you to walk together. Families that walk together, talk together!
